Happy Earth Day and welcome to Taurus Season (the Sun moved into Taurus on 4/20). There is no coincidence that all these days are represented by a chill & pleasure-seeking, nature-loving Taurus. After a busy and active month of feeling the energy of the Aries season and feeling motivated to go forward with our dreams and ambitions, it is time to chill out and enjoy the comforts we have created.

In today’s post we will learn about Venus - the planet that rules Taurus and Libra, we will also go deeper into getting to know the nature of Taurus, as well as which house in the Natal Chart is ruled by Taurus and what values it holds. This Taurus season will not be as ordinary as they usually are, due to the eclipses that will be happening in Taurus and Scorpio and shaking things up until July 2023 (then the nodes of the Moon will move out of Taurus and Scorpio into Aries and Libra, signifying the eclipse seasons in those signs, but until then let’s cover some of the basics..)
Venus
As we already might have heard, Venus is the planet of love, romance, relationships, art, fashion, charm, beauty, kindness, pleasure, enjoyment, femininity, nature, plants, material goods, luxury..

The goddess of love & beauty in Greek mythology, Aphrodite, is represented by Venus. She is the feminine counterpart to Mars’ masculine role. She brings harmony and tenderness into our lives, and her true essence is pure love & truth. Venus in our charts can indicate how capable we are of love & enjoyment, what we love the most and what we are like in love. Depending on how our Venus is aspected by other planets in a chart, we can discover deeper the themes that Venus represents and how they manifest in our lives.
Taurus

Spring in the Northern Hemisphere started during the Aries season, seeds were planted, projects were initiated and now during the Taurus season it is time to create roots, stability and to grow. This describes the sign of Taurus as a fixed sign. Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) represent stability, durability and this is when the 4 seasons have their peak before they change into the next season (May flowers, hottest August summer, rainy November Autumn and a never ending February winter). This is also why fixed signs are known as stubborn, very patient, and they do not give up easily once they have their mind set.
Taurus is an earth sign, and some people even say that planet Earth is a Taurus. It kind of makes sense… (abundance of food grows from the earth, the unexplainable beauty of nature and how the frequency of the Earth takes us instantly into the present moment... just some of my thoughts)

Taurus is a second sign of the Zodiac and it represents beauty & senses, finance & values, and comfort & pleasure. Seeking stability and security which is mostly obtained through accumulating finances and material things, a Taurus lives through their senses. This is why they’re known as foodies, and are always seeking the most enjoyable experiences. Tastes, touch, textures, smells, and aesthetics are all things that make a Taurus live in the present moment.
A lower expression of Taurus is that they may be susceptible to becoming stagnant and resistant to leaving their comfort zone, which then takes even more effort to get out of.

The sign of Taurus rules the throat, neck, and vocal chords. This season may highlight the sensitivity of these areas. It is important to take care of our throat by drinking warm tea and speaking our truth. We also may feel the urge to activate our voices and sing.
The second house
Each house of the Zodiac corresponds to each sign, even though they do not represent the same things. The second house in our birth chart is the house of Taurus and it shows us what we value in life. It represents our personal values, our physical valuables, as well as our self-worth. It is the house where we can see our earnings and liquid assets.
A person who has a lot of planets in their second house may almost seem like a Taurus even if they do not have Taurus placements.
Astro-Herbalism
The first apparent plant ruled by Venus that I came to my mind is the Rose (all types of roses). Its petals are gentle to the touch, its smell is incredibly enjoyable, and its beauty isn’t ignored by anyone. No wonder we give roses to signify the love we have for someone.

Medicine of the Rose is that it opens & warms the heart. Helps bring harmony and love in relationships. It can be eaten in desserts, added to coffee and cacao, used as a perfume or a skin tonic. For a self loving bath ritual it is beneficial to put rose petals in the water and absorb all the loving & healing frequencies of the Rose.
Even though this description fits more for the sign of Libra (relationships & love), I felt it was appropriate for Taurus as well due to the sensations that the Rose gives us when we interact and consume the plant.
