Libra Season

Happy birthday dear Libra! What's a better way to represent the balance of Libra than celebrating Autumn Equinox when the amount of daylight is equal to the amount of nighttime. We are officially half way through the astrological year and it is time to recap what we have learned for the last 6 months. Libra season marks the time of changing perspective, moving from the spring + summer yang energy into autumn + winter yin. For the next 6 months we will be collectively switching focus from "me and my development" to "us and the collective expansion". Let's quickly have a review of the previous signs the Sun has passed through and their basic significance.

Aries- I am - represents becoming aware of the self

Taurus- I have - represents values, safety & comfort

Gemini- I know - represents curiosity & learning new information

Cancer- I feel- represents emotions & gut feelings

Leo- I shine - represents self expression & creativity

Virgo - I analyze - represents self reflection & refinement

As you can see, the first 6 signs are focused on personal development, which also match the 6 bottom houses in a chart. Libra is the first sign in the zodiac that focuses on other people and it is opposite from Aries. It is also the first house in the upper part of the Natal chart following the order of houses. Unlike Aries, who is very self-focused with strong willpower, Libra is opposite and represents balance & relationships with others, always striving to maintain harmony.

Venus

Both Venus and Mercury rule two signs that are Earth and Air. Venus rules Taurus & Libra and Mercury rules Gemini & Virgo. I have already written a bit about Venus in my Taurus post but we can have a reminder in this post as well. It is beautiful to observe the same planetary energy being embodied through an either Earthy or Airy lens. In Earthy Taurus, Venus expresses herself through embodiment & the

senses, while an Airy Venusian Libra expresses herself through beauty, charm & mingling.

Venus' purpose is to bring love, harmony, beauty, romance into this world. Everything that is aesthetically beautiful, tasty, gentle, feminine, pink & rose colored represents Venusian energy. The goddess of love & beauty in Greek mythology, Aphrodite, is represented by Venus. She is the feminine counterpart to Mars’ masculine role. She brings harmony and tenderness into our lives, and her true essence is pure love & truth. Venus in our charts can indicate how capable we are of love & enjoyment, what we love the most and what we are like in love. Depending on how our Venus is aspected by other planets in a chart, we can discover deeper the themes that Venus represents and how they manifest in our lives.

LIBRA- I BALANCE

Libra is a Cardinal sign, signifying the beginning of Autumn. Cardinal signs signify initiation, new beginnings and leadership. Being an Air sign, Libra leads using the mind, following what feels fair to all parties involved when a decision needs to be made. Libra is considerate of others and that is where they receive their main drive to make decisions. Libras are usually very beautiful, charming, kind, friendly, pleasant & social individuals. They love bringing people together and can be very romantic. They also have a very strong sense of fairness & equality and this is why many of them can be interested in law & diplomacy. Sometimes they are known to have struggle with indecisiveness because they understand every possible perspective which then makes it difficult to make a decision.

7th house

7th house is another angular house which is very important when looking into learning about one's 1 on 1 relationships, marriage, business partners as well as known enemies. It is opposite from the first house-house of self and it represents "the other". Another name for it is the Descendent. Ruler of the 7th house can reveal the best description of a partner in a person's chart. Mars in the 7th house can represent being attracted to fiery, masculine energy. Venus in the 7th house can represent harmony, luxury & comfort in relationships. Sun in the 7th house can show us that an individual truly shines in and through partnerships, whether it is relationship or business partnership, and then depending what sign the sun is in it can tell us more about the themes in one's life.

Astro-Herbalism

The main body part that Libra rules is the Uterus (it even resembles a scale) and I felt to emphasize a plant that is really beneficial for women in general. Besides the tasty deep red/pink fruit full of nutrients, Raspberry leaf is an incredible plant that improves uterine health. It may reduce menstrual cramping during a moon cycle, as well as stabilize irregular periods and even help strengthen the uterus during pregnancy. It is best when used as a warm tea.

Another Venus ruled plant is the Rose Hip. It is full of antioxidants as well as vitamin C that helps boost the immune system when used in a tea. Rose hip can also be used in an oil for tissue and cell regeneration of the skin. A beautiful way to embody the goddess energy with a self-care ritual of gently putting the Rose Hip oil on the face and body, giving it love.
